No means NO! Support Rape Victims!

Updated: Oct 27, 2023

So recently I have been given the honor to represent the state of Florida and regional Southeastern ambassador with 3 crowns, a Queen for TCP Mrs. Transcontinental Pageant, Mrs. Classic Universe and Prime Pageant. But with that comes your platform, focus and mission in life, mine is to help women and children who are victims of abuse. This mission has lead me to volunteering. I am now a volunteer for C.A.R.E. - Center of Abuse and Rape Emergencies and going through extensive training in order to provide assistance and help those in need. My mission is personal. For those who know Ern - my husband, back in 1992 he was stabbed 3 times by interrupting a rape in progress. Plus there are other personal family matters that have happened to make this a mission - a mission for life and making it so important. I am thankful that pageantry has brought to this point.

This Wednesday, April 26th is Denim Day. This day of awareness is in honor of an incident that happen in 1990 when an 18 year young woman was raped by a 45 year old man, who only spent a very short time in jail for his actions then only to be released because the judge ended up blaming the survivor for the occurrence because she had on tight jeans. What a person decides to wear is a choice and it has nothing to do with a person being abused or causing someone to disrespect and abuse you. NO - MEANS NO! If others would live and believe: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you; this world would be a different place.

Your support and awareness can help stop this type of abuse!
